Essential Skills:

  • Fundamental understanding of cleaning agents and procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational capabilities.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Competent (or willing to be trained) in operating mobile equipment and overhead cranes.
  • Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • Experience in a steel fabrication environment is advantageous.
  • Prior experience in industrial cleaning or maintenance is preferred.
  • Must have dependable transportation for travel between facilities.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintaining Cleanliness:

  • Perform sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming of floors.
  • Clear debris, scrap metal, and waste from production areas.
  • Sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and communal spaces.

Organizing Equipment and Materials:

  • Ensure proper storage of equipment and materials.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of tools, consumables, and materials.
  • Restock supplies as necessary to support production needs.

Waste Management:

  • Regularly empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste according to safety and environmental standards.
  • Sort and recycle materials whenever possible.
  • Assist with hazardous waste disposal in line with company policies.

Support Functions:

  • Assist production teams in moving materials or equipment as required.
  • Help with the setup and breakdown of workstations for various tasks.
  • Engage in company-wide cleaning and maintenance initiatives.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to work in various indoor and outdoor conditions, including extreme temperatures, dust, and noise.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs frequently; 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Ability to carry up to 20 lbs frequently; 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Frequent standing, walking, reaching, balancing, and handling objects will be required.
  • Regular sitting, climbing, reaching overhead, stooping, and crouching will be necessary.
  • Must be able to properly wear all required Personal Protective Equipment.
