Facilities Support Specialist

Job Summary:
The Virginia Department of Transportation is seeking a Part-Time Facilities Technician to provide day-to-day support and assistance to the facilities staff. As a qualified candidate, you will be responsible for providing liaison services for VDOT staff requesting assistance of a general nature not requiring specific trades involvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facility Related Tasks (work requests, mailroom deliveries, inventory equipment)
- Facilities Preparation (set-up and break-down conference rooms, move office furniture/equipment)
- Routine Standardized Maintenance (ensure draperies and tablecloths are maintained/cleaned, assist with light bulb, light and fixture replacement)
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- General knowledge of facilities-related services and office interfaces in a large multi-divisional environment
- Skill in basic computer operations
- Ability to use ladders, hand trucks, pallet jacks, and carts
Additional Considerations:
- Experience in building construction as project inspector, superintendent or project manager
Working Conditions:
This position may be required to work during emergencies and inclement weather on nights, weekends, and holidays when needed.
