Job Description

Position Overview

The Payroll Administrator at PALP, Inc. dba Excel Paving Company will be responsible for the precise execution and documentation of payroll processes while engaging in data entry tasks related to payroll management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Input field timesheets and produce payroll for the organization and various unions.
  • Prepare and manage all payroll deductions, taxes, and employee benefits.
  • Possess knowledge of prevailing wage regulations.
  • Compile and submit all Quarterly and Year-End Tax Reports (e.g., 941, W-2's, ACA 1095-C).
  • Establish and maintain comprehensive personnel files.
  • Develop and update New Hire documentation.
  • Conduct orientation sessions for new employees and finalize necessary paperwork.
  • Address some HR inquiries (e.g., employment verifications, garnishments).
  • Oversee workflow to guarantee payroll transactions are executed accurately and on time.
  • Consistently meet stringent deadlines.
  • Assist employees with payroll-related inquiries.
  • Support other departments as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in the construction sector.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with Construction or Payroll Software Programs (Vista preferred).
  • Ability to handle payroll matters with confidentiality.
  • Familiarity with Multi-union/craft Payroll.
  • Understanding of Prevailing Wage Law and Certified Payroll Reporting is preferred.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Capable of thriving under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are essential.
