Position Overview:

KBS is seeking a dedicated and energetic Floor Tech Member responsible for performing general cleaning and minor maintenance tasks to ensure that building entrances, walkways, and equipment are maintained in a clean, orderly, and functional state. This role involves assisting staff, visitors, vendors, and clients as needed while ensuring the cleanliness and safety of main floors, restrooms, and back offices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute spot removal, extraction, bonnet cleaning, stripping/waxing, scrubbing/recoating, sealing/grouting, etc.
  • Maintain carpeted and non-carpeted areas through scrubbing, shining, cleaning, and repairing using appropriate tools and chemicals.
  • Perform floor and stairway cleaning by sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming.
  • Safely move large furniture and objects as necessary, adhering to safety protocols to prevent injuries.
  • Keep the janitor closet organized and tidy.
  • Adhere to manufacturer's guidelines for chemical preparation and equipment usage.
  • Ensure all building doors and windows are secure and locked.
  • Report any needed repairs, safety hazards, or conditions requiring additional service to the Supervisor.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures diligently.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned by the Area Supervisor or Area Manager.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess dependability, honesty, a strong work ethic, motivation, a professional appearance, effective communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment. Experience in operating janitorial tools and equipment is preferred but not mandatory. A minimum of one year of prior floor care experience is advantageous.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move totes weighing up to 49 pounds.
  • Capability to lift and carry objects weighing between 15 to 25 pounds.
  • Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head.
  • Full manual dexterity in both hands and wrists.
  • Ability to safely climb ladders and gangways.

Environmental Conditions:

The work environment may include varying temperatures and moderate noise levels. Working conditions may involve small spaces, dust, fumes/odors, and exposure to different weather conditions. KBS provides a supportive work environment that accommodates individual needs.
