Salem Academy Charter School is seeking an exceptional Upper School Spanish teacher to join our team. As a Spanish educator, you will be responsible for teaching Spanish to students in grades 9-12 and contributing to a school culture that values learning, mutual respect, and human kindness.
Key Responsibilities- Teach Spanish to students in grades 9-12, aligning curricular standards with state guidelines and monitoring student progress through standards-based assessments.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners and support students through daily Connections class (homeroom).
- Participate in Parent/Teacher/Student Conferences, communicate regularly with families about academic and social progress, and co-host IEP meetings.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues to ensure the success of the school mission and participate in weekly professional development sessions and grade level team meetings.
- Bachelor's degree in Spanish or a related field.
- Fluent in Spanish and English.
- Demonstrated subject matter competence and a sound understanding of the Massachusetts Spanish Curriculum Framework.
- Possession of Massachusetts Teacher Certification or successful completion of the MTEL.
- Background clearance.
- Possession of Massachusetts Educator License in Spanish.
- Culturally and linguistically diverse background.
- Similar life experiences as our students.
- Masters, PhD, or EdD degree.
- National Board Certification.
