We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Operations Manager to join our team at Albertsons Companies. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for overseeing the transportation department's activities and personnel to ensure seamless delivery of products to our food stores.
Main Responsibilities- Supervise and Train Driver Personnel: Develop and implement strategies to ensure drivers are trained and developed to deliver products safely and efficiently.
- Develop and Maintain Relationships: Foster strong working relationships with area staff and store personnel to resolve delivery issues and improve overall service.
- Optimize Transportation Operations: Analyze and recommend changes to transportation patterns and routes to minimize expenses and ensure timely deliveries.
- Coordinate Deliveries: Work closely with the distribution planning function to coordinate deliveries for new stores and re-grand openings.
- Investigate and Resolve Issues: Investigate and resolve complaints and issues related to deliveries, including property damage and driver-related accidents.
- Monitor and Improve Performance: Regularly review driver logs and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Availability: Must be available to work night shifts, 10pm-6am.
- Experience: Retail store operations experience preferred, with transportation experience and loading of trailers a plus.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required.
- Skills: Strong organizational skills, basic computer skills, and excellent communication skills required.
