Overview:
Shuvel Digital is engaged in supporting a U.S. Government client on a significant mission-critical development and sustainment initiative aimed at designing, building, delivering, and operating a network operations environment. This includes the introduction of new cybersecurity capabilities to counter emerging threats.

Role Summary:
We are looking for a Principal Test Engineer to contribute to the Agile-based design, development, integration, testing, and deployment of advanced cybersecurity solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and coordinate continuous testing activities in close collaboration with agile development and integration teams.
  • Define, plan, and execute test assignments for large-scale, complex software and hardware systems.
  • Establish both automated and manual testing methodologies, develop test plans and requirements, write test procedures and reports, and conduct tests.
  • Work alongside developers to create suitable automated and manual tests for software, interfaces, features, stories, workflows, etc.
  • Participate in test readiness reviews and design evaluations.
  • Utilize software development expertise to ensure test validity, integrity, quality, and execution.
  • Conduct tests while collaborating closely with others to establish language, database, and computer requirements along with configuration management techniques.
  • Plan and implement testing using cutting-edge technologies, processes, and frameworks (e.g., SAFe or similar).
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive test documentation including plans, procedures, and reports.
  • Analyze test results and effectively communicate findings with management and teams.
  • Document and keep program management informed of deviations from customer requirements.

Required Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Active Secret clearance; must be able to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
  • Must be able to secure DHS Suitability.
  • 8+ years of directly relevant experience, preferably in an agile environment.
  • 4+ years of experience in automated and/or manual testing.
  • Strong experience with Agile Continuous Development / Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery and hands-on experience with automated testing tools such as Docker, Jenkins, JIRA, Git, Ansible, JMeter, RSpec, Cucumber, Jest, React Testing Library, Selenium Web Driver, Mocha, Jasmine, Chai, Karma, Enzyme, Puppeteer.
  • 2+ years of software development experience using Java, Cucumber, Gherkin, or similar languages in an agile setting.
  • Hands-on experience with automated testing tools, preferably Selenium.
  • Experience in requirements development and management.
  • Ability to plan and conduct security testing.
  • Experience in developing test procedures.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering and configuration management processes.
  • Capable of generating necessary test-related documentation.
  • Excellent teamwork skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with agile development teams, clients, and colleagues at all levels.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across agencies and physical locations.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with both automated and manual testing processes.
  • Hands-on experience in DevOps or DevSecOps.
  • Technical understanding of cybersecurity attack techniques and corresponding mitigation strategies.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Java, Perl, Ruby, Python, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with database technologies including SQL, Oracle, MySQL, JDBC, and NoSQL.
  • Experience with DHS.
  • Experience working in cloud environments such as AWS or Azure.

Required Education:
BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or Computer Systems Engineering. Two years of relevant work experience may substitute for each year of degree level education.

Desired Certifications:
DoD IAT Level II, Certified Software Test Professional (CSTP) or similar, certifications related to Agile development and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), AWS Certifications.
