Job Title: Archaeological Field Specialist

Kleinfelder is seeking a highly skilled Archaeological Field Specialist to join our team. As an Archaeological Field Specialist, you will be responsible for conducting Phase I archaeological surveys, archaeological reconnaissance, and possible Phase II and Phase III work in the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, and Southeast regions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Phase I archaeological surveys and reconnaissance in the field
  • Identify prehistoric and historic-era cultural resources
  • Participate in cultural resources field projects and excavations
  • Collect and record data using digital field technology (GPS, total station, iPad, and GIS applications)
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve project goals
  • Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or closely related field
  • Three months of progressive experience participating in cultural resources field projects or participating in an accredited field school
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and attention to detail
  • Strong writing skills and clarity in notetaking
  • Experience with MS Office and digital field technology
  • Ability to work independently and as a team
