About the Role:
The Senior Surety Underwriter will be accountable for:
- Executing results-driven underwriting by collaborating with the Head of North America Surety to develop and oversee a technically sound and profitable portfolio.
- Enhancing market presence to further establish the PartnerRe brand with key clients and brokers.
- Promoting a culture of agility, high performance, client focus, and solution-oriented decision-making.
- Representing PartnerRe at market events, client engagements, underwriting file assessments, and workshops as assigned.
- Ensuring adherence to underwriting and pricing standards, operational procedures, and guidelines.
- Assisting in portfolio management and monitoring exposure/risk accumulation in line with corporate policies.
- Collaborating effectively with key stakeholders across the organization, including actuarial, claims, and wording departments.
- Managing underwriting administrative responsibilities, including special acceptances analysis, contractual document reviews, endorsement requests, data entry, and maintaining portfolio data quality.
- Ensuring accurate and timely data entry into internal systems in conjunction with the underwriting operations team.
- Analyzing and monitoring market trends, economic and legal developments, and assessing their impacts on PartnerRe.
- Performing additional duties as required.
About You:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications, skills, and mindset:
- 3-5 years of primary and/or reinsurance underwriting experience in North America Surety.
- Strong grasp of market trends and the ability to leverage them to identify improvement opportunities.
- Experience in a diverse and multicultural setting.
- Excellent commercial, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to meet defined targets and objectives.
- Self-motivated with a high energy level.
- Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Salesforce.
- Adaptable and open to new ideas and technologies.
- Willingness to travel 30-40% (domestic and international).
