AVP Underwriter North America Surety

The AVP Underwriter North America Surety will be responsible for handling results-oriented underwriting by assisting the Head of North America Surety in developing and monitoring a technically sound and profitable portfolio.
This role will also involve providing a market presence to build the PartnerRe brand with key clients and brokers, supporting and fostering a culture of agility, high performance, client centricity, and solution-oriented decision making.
The AVP Underwriter North America Surety will represent PartnerRe at market events, client visits, underwriting file reviews, and workshops, as assigned.
This role requires ensuring compliance with underwriting and pricing guidelines, operations, and procedures, as well as supporting portfolio management and exposure/risk accumulation monitoring according to corporate guidelines.
The AVP Underwriter North America Surety will effectively collaborate with key stakeholders within the organization, including the actuarial, claims, and wording departments.
This role also involves handling underwriting administrative tasks, including special acceptances analysis and recommendation, review of contractual documents and endorsement requests, data input, maintaining data quality of the portfolio, and accurate and timely data entry into internal systems in conjunction with the UW operations team.
The AVP Underwriter North America Surety will also analyze and monitor market trends, economic and legal developments, and assess their impacts on PartnerRe.
About YouTo be an ideal candidate, you should have 3-5 years of primary and/or reinsurance underwriting experience in North America Surety.
You should have a strong understanding of market trends and the ability to apply them to identify improvement opportunities.
Experience working in a diverse and multicultural environment is also required, as well as solid commercial, negotiation, and communication skills.
Proven ability to deliver on defined targets and goals, a self-motivated attitude with a high level of energy, and proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Salesforce are also necessary.
Adaptability, openness to new ideas and technology, and 30-40% travel (domestic and international) are also required for this role.
