Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to Special Education regulations by developing, executing, and overseeing each student's Individual Education Plan (IEP), which includes behavioral, life skills, and vocational objectives.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation for Special Education students as mandated by the organization and governing authorities, ensuring confidentiality of all records.
- Create and implement personalized academic programs through formal and informal assessments of students' academic performance, social-emotional growth, and vocational skills, following governmental and organizational standards.
- Utilize a variety of instructional methods and materials to effectively engage students, avoiding reliance on any single medium.
- Manage the classroom environment to foster a safe and productive learning atmosphere, providing clear expectations and maintaining consistency in behavior management.
- Promote student engagement by reinforcing positive behaviors in alignment with the behavior management plan.
- Proactively monitor student behavior to prevent potential issues, ensuring constant supervision of assigned students.
- Serve as a positive role model for students and colleagues by collaborating effectively with team members and participating in staff meetings.
- Comply with all organizational policies and regulatory requirements, reporting any known or suspected violations appropriately.
- Enhance community relations by collaborating with external agencies and individuals to expand educational opportunities.
- Document student progress accurately and professionally, including grades, reports, and behavioral data, in accordance with facility standards.
- Maintain a conducive classroom environment by ensuring cleanliness and organization, including appropriate educational materials and displays.
- Monitor classroom supplies and prepare orders for replacements as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field.
- Preferred: 1+ years of experience in Special Education.
