Job Summary:

West Memphis School District is seeking a highly skilled Speech Pathologist to join our team. The successful candidate will possess a valid certificate and necessary credentials for a State approved Speech Pathologist. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, knowledge of current research, changes, and trends in Speech Pathology, and display excellent people skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Selects and administers age-appropriate assessment methods and materials to determine the needs of students.
Interprets assessment results and compiles comprehensive speech assessment reports that address the reason for referral and include appropriate recommendations.
Participates in eligibility committee meetings and contributes to the development of the Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
Serves as a resource to teachers and staff regarding speech services and the academic/speech needs of students.
Works with parents, teachers, and administrators to develop strategies to address learning difficulties.
Prepares timely reports to maintain timelines for paperwork completion and conferences.
Stays up-to-date with developments and research in the field of speech pathology and shares with colleagues.

Requirements:

Must hold a valid certificate and necessary credentials for a State approved Speech Pathologist.
Must display excellent communication skills.
Have knowledge of current research, changes, and trends in Speech Pathology.
Must display excellent people skills.
