Perianesthesia Nursing Career Opportunity

Munson Healthcare is seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse to join our Perianesthesia Program team. As a Nurse in this role, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to patients undergoing surgical procedures.

Program Overview

Our Perianesthesia Program includes a combination of clinical and didactic training, designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to provide exceptional patient care. You will participate in computer-based training, skills labs, and simulations, as well as EKG training and critical care/trauma case studies.

As a Nurse in this program, you will have the opportunity to strengthen your clinical skills, sharpen your nursing judgment, and organize care for the perianesthesia patient population. You will work with the most up-to-date equipment and use Evidence-Based Practice to deliver high-quality patient care.

Clinical Narrative Instructions

A clinical narrative is a written statement of actual nursing practice. It is a story of how you provided care for a patient and family. This could be a story of how you prepared a patient and/or family for something that changed their lifestyle when they return home, or how you helped a young couple prepare for the eventual death of their two-year-old with leukemia.

Your narrative is the story of a patient care situation that is meaningful to you. It is one that caused you to reflect on your practice, and may continue to influence your practice as you confront similar situations.

As you write your narrative, think of your most recent group of patients. What did you do that you remember? How did you interact with that patient? Choose one that involves your relationship with a patient and family. What did you and the patient plan for his or her care? Why did you make the choices you did?

Write as though you are trying to have someone understand your practice. Use the word 'I' to describe your actions and decisions. This must be a first-person narrative.

Once you have selected a patient to write about, sit down in a quiet place and write your story. Set the scene, let the reader visualize your patient and the situation. Involve yourself early on in this scene. Tell what you did, what you thought about, and why you made the choices you did.

As with any story, there is a beginning and an end. The reader should know what happened as a result of your intervention, and what this whole experience means to your practice or says to you about your practice.
