Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Hospice Chaplain to join our team. As a Hospice Chaplain, you will provide spiritual support to patients and their families, developing and maintaining a resource group of clergy and acting as a liaison between our hospice and the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Spiritual Support: Offer emotional, spiritual, and practical support to patients and their families, addressing their unique needs and concerns.
  • Develop and Maintain Resource Group: Establish and maintain a network of clergy and spiritual leaders to provide support and guidance to patients and families.
  • Liaison between Hospice and Community: Foster relationships with local community organizations, churches, and other stakeholders to promote our hospice services and provide support to patients and families.
  • Document Records: Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient interactions, including spiritual assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Interdisciplinary Team: Work closely with our interdisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals, to provide comprehensive care to patients and families.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in religion, human services, theology, philosophy, or a related field. Or, be an ordained minister of your religious organization with an emphasis in counseling.
  • Experience: Preferably, experience in therapeutic methods of working with individuals, groups, and families in crisis, preferably in counseling and death, dying, and grief.
  • Skills: Ability to be open, flexible, and ecumenical, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
