Position Overview
The Accounting Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing trust accounting and fund management, ensuring alignment with company policies, client requirements, and applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities
1. **Leadership and Management**
- Directs the trust accounting team, fostering a culture of leadership and adherence to organizational values.
- Cultivates team development through performance evaluations, goal establishment, training initiatives, and effective employee engagement.
2. **Quality Assurance**
- Monitors the quality and volume of work produced, ensuring compliance with internal service level agreements and accountability among team members.
3. **Compliance Oversight**
- Ensures that internal systems, policies, and procedures for trust accounting are in accordance with client expectations, regulatory changes, and reporting standards.
4. **Issue Resolution**
- Addresses and resolves complex trust accounting issues escalated by clients or internal stakeholders.
5. **Communication and Collaboration**
- Maintains effective communication and collaborative relationships with management, operational units, clients, government entities, and external partners.
6. **Financial Review**
- Reviews and verifies financial statements prepared by staff for accuracy prior to client distribution.
7. **Audit Management**
- Coordinates year-end audits with external CPA firms, requiring strong problem-solving skills.
8. **Additional Duties**
- Performs other related tasks as assigned.
Work Environment
The role typically involves a standard office environment with comfortable conditions. Flexibility in work hours may be necessary based on workload demands.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- CPA designation is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience is required.
- Prior management experience is advantageous.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
