Job Summary

The University of Kentucky is seeking a Department Manager to support the Department of Statistics. This individual will assist in the management of day-to-day operations, and provide vital support to the students, faculty, and leadership in the Department, namely the Chair, Director of Graduate Studies, and Director of Undergraduate Studies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with tasks critical to the success of the Department per College and University deadlines and expectations, which may include but are not limited to:
  • Collection, submission, and/or distribution of faculty and instructor reports for scheduled reviews
  • Submission of Triage tickets for purchasing, travel, independent contractors, student awards, hiring, technical/creative IT help, and building/key/space/surplus/renovation requests, etc.
  • Course scheduling
  • Collection of payroll information and submission of payroll reports
  • Meeting monthly with the College Business Center for departmental budget reviews and planning per Dean's Office
  • Items related to TA/GA/RA and student success and/or funding, such as GSAS form submission, TA credentials database updates, processing overrides, etc.
  • Maintaining departmental files and records
  • Event planning
  • Attending all Department Manager meetings and training opportunities as scheduled by the College

  • Proficiency in Excel, Access, Outlook, and Word
