About the Role:
At Eriez, our workforce is the driving force behind our achievements. We are currently seeking a Metal Fabrication Specialist at our Asbury Road facility. This role involves interpreting complex engineering schematics and employing T.I.G. welding techniques to operate various welding machinery and filler materials as instructed. The successful candidate will report directly to the Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop detailed work order procedures; collect necessary tools and materials according to the provided instructions and specifications.
2. Capable of welding components in vertical, flat, or overhead positions.
3. Adjust welding machines for optimal performance (e.g., wire feed, amperage, etc.).
4. Prepare, assemble, fit, and tack weld parts and surfaces designated for welding.
5. Execute sanitary welding tasks with efficiency.
6. Supervise the welding, burning, and fitting processes to prevent overheating or damage due to warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage.
7. Operate overhead cranes, clamping devices, and forklifts.
8. Utilize plasma cutters and carbon arcs, along with various hand tools and manual machine tools such as torches and drill presses.
9. Demonstrate proficiency in all T.I.G. welding procedures.
Requirements:
1. Possess a welding technology degree/certificate or a minimum of 2 years of relevant welding experience; candidates currently pursuing a degree may be considered.
2. AWS D.1.1 Certification is preferred.
3. Ability to visually identify stainless steel, aluminum, mild steel, and other materials.
4. Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and applying basic shop mathematics, including decimals and fractions.
5. Basic understanding of design techniques, principles, and tools necessary for the accurate production of technical plans, drawings, models, and blueprints.
6. Comprehensive knowledge of machines and tools utilized in welding, including their designs, uses, maintenance, and repair.
7. A high school diploma is preferred.
8. Basic computer skills are required.
