Medical Laboratory Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our team at Essentia Health. As a Medical Technologist, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases by performing and reporting laboratory tests.
Key Responsibilities- Perform and report tests of all complexity levels, as defined by CLIA, on patients of all ages to assist with the routine screening, diagnosis, treatment, and management of diseases and injuries.
- Interpret and correlate test results with disease states and theoretical knowledge, exhibiting problem-solving skills of a highly complex nature.
- Participate in Quality Assurance, Quality Control monitoring, instrumentation maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- May be required to perform phlebotomy and specimen processing duties.
- Participate in research, development, education, and technical activities.
- Graduate of a four-year degree program in an accredited school of clinical laboratory science, or equivalent discipline.
- Certificate/Licensure: Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP), Medical Technologist (ASCP), or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (NCA) or equivalent is required within one year from the date of hire.
- OR; if North Dakota Sites and Moorhead, MN - Current license or provisional license through the ND Board of Clinical Laboratory Practice within 45 days of hire or transfer.
This position is located at St. Mary's Hospital - Detroit Lakes and requires a Day/Eve/Night Rotation schedule with 80 hours per pay period.
The compensation range for this position is $41.29 per hour, and the FTE is 1.0.
This position requires weekends and call obligations.
