Position Summary
As a Senior Project Engineer in the field, you will play a crucial role in assisting the Superintendent with the coordination of subcontractors and the supervision of trade workers on-site. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring subcontractor schedules and ensuring compliance with contract specifications.
  • Facilitating effective communication between Balfour Beatty Construction and subcontractors.
  • Reviewing and verifying that all work meets quality standards as outlined in contract documents.
  • Coordinating the submission and approval of project-related drawings and ensuring all trades are involved in the process.

Key Responsibilities
1. **Project Coordination**: Oversee the installation of materials, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.
2. **Documentation and Compliance**: Maintain thorough knowledge of contract drawings and specifications, ensuring subcontractors are compliant with all requirements.
3. **Safety Management**: Collaborate with subcontractors to uphold a high level of safety awareness on-site.
4. **Customer Relations**: Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, design teams, and subcontractors, reflecting the core values of the company.

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, along with 2 to 4 years of relevant experience. Alternatively, candidates with 5 to 6 years of progressive construction-related trade experience will also be considered.

Skills and Competencies
1. **Leadership**: Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage conflicts effectively.
2. **Technical Proficiency**: Familiarity with project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
3. **Problem Solving**: Strong analytical skills to address challenges and make informed decisions under pressure.

Working Conditions
This position primarily involves working on job sites, requiring adherence to safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment as necessary. Flexibility to relocate to different project sites may be required.
