Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at Duval County Public School. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in guiding the learning process and helping students with autism achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to meet the unique needs of students with autism.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and other professionals to provide a comprehensive support system for students with autism.
  • Use a variety of instructional techniques and strategies to engage students and promote learning.
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a positive and supportive learning environment.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Florida Department of Education certification in Exceptional Student Education or a related field.
  • Experience working with students with autism or other exceptional needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
