Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Instrumentation and Control Systems Technician to join our team at The Metropolitan District Commission. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and supporting the automation and process control infrastructure for our water and wastewater systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement, maintain, and support automation and process control systems for water and wastewater treatment and distribution processes.
  • Assist in creating and reviewing engineering plans, designs, and specifications for automation and process control systems.
  • Develop and deploy standard and custom programming and configuration code for automation and process control systems.
  • Provide first-level support for maintaining and troubleshooting automation and process control infrastructure, including on-call and on-site support as required.
  • Manage automation and process control system projects as required.
  • Perform quality assurance checks of automation and process control systems as required.
  • Assist with the maintenance and integration of computerized maintenance management systems.
Requirements
  • Associates degree in a related field, plus three years of related experience.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, repair, and installation of process control systems, including SCADA and DCS systems.
  • Experience with programming and configuration of PLCs/RTUs and HMIs.
  • Knowledge of process control systems, including water and wastewater treatment and distribution processes.
  • Ability to obtain a Control Systems Technician Certificate, Level I (CCST) within 24 months of placement.
  • Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with data communications systems, protocols, wired and wireless network systems, and radio telemetry.
  • Knowledge of computer networking technology, telemetry methods, and historical archiving databases.
  • Experience with project management and application development methodologies and tools.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to various weather conditions, high or deep dangerous places, working near moving mechanical parts, risk of electric shock, vibration, fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, etc.
