Job Title: Admissions Nurse

Recovery Centers of America is seeking a skilled Admissions Nurse to join our team. As an Admissions Nurse, you will play a critical role in facilitating and evaluating the therapeutic, medical, and financial arrangements of incoming patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive orientation to program aspects after admission, including documentation and data input into our computer system.
  • Ensure prompt responses to patient needs reviews and maintain all documents and departmental logs.
  • Conduct telephonic and in-person assessments and initial contact with referral sources and potential patients, coordinating with families, patients, and unit staff.
  • Analyze data related to departmental performance indicators and contribute to the development of strategies for improvement.
  • Collaborate with counselors and senior program staff in crisis intervention and other situations as needed.
  • Complete admissions nursing assessments, consents, and initial paperwork, as well as assist with insurance authorizations and other administrative tasks.
  • Conduct admissions body searches and physical exams, including vital signs.
Requirements:
  • Current Licensed Practical Nurse licensure with the State Board of Nursing.
  • Current Registered Nurse licensure preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a substance abuse service.
  • Up-to-date CPR or BLS certification.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
  • Excellent organizational and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff.
  • Demonstrated strong customer service skills.
  • Flexible and able to address multiple issues simultaneously.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Work Environment:

May work in a variety of environments, including professional offices, clinics, hospitals, or out-patient facilities. Spend much of the time on their feet, actively working with patients.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to administer at least 2 consecutive minutes of quality CPR.

Travel:

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
