Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage the accounts payable process, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement effective accounts payable policies and procedures, providing training and support to internal resources.
  • Manage the research and resolution of invoice/payment discrepancies, recommending process changes to avoid ongoing issues.
  • Ensure all financial deadlines regarding accounts payable are met for month-end and year-end financial closings.
  • Review accounting and compliance tasks, focusing on improving processes and enhancing financial controls.
  • Assist with Unclaimed Property reporting and annual 1099 preparation for IRS reporting.
  • Handle special projects, including system upgrades, as needed.
Requirements
  • Associate degree, Finance or Accounting preferred.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Seven (7) years of Accounts Payable experience in an automated financial environment and six (6) years of experience leading a team in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Proficient with accounts payable systems, banking institution requirements, federal and state government agency reporting requirements, and familiarity with ERP systems.
  • Self-starter with the ability to motivate team members and provide direction.
  • Capable of managing multiple deliverables within agreed timeframes.
  • Challenges current processes and recommends process improvements.
  • Strong analytical and excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with team, peers, and business, as well as upper management.
