Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacy Operations Manager to join our team at Publix. As an Assistant Pharmacy Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success of our pharmacy department by executing strategy, motivating and inspiring staff, and providing best-in-class pharmacy service to patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to maximize pharmacy department performance, including scheduling and assigning tasks to ensure complex operational activities are met in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by empowering staff to provide value and service through counseling, building personalized relationships, and promoting customer loyalty.
  • Mentor, train, and develop a high-functioning pharmacy team, providing developmental opportunities and challenging assignments to all staff.
  • Manage department performance, including inventory management, and ensure continuous improvement by understanding metrics as they relate to sales and service in the pharmacy.
  • Be regarded as an expert on the pharmacy technology system and how it is used for both routine and complex prescription processing.
  • Proactively advance pharmacy clinical initiatives, including Medication Therapy Management (MTM) and immunizations.
  • Participate locally as a community pharmacist in events that meet the unique health and preventative care needs within the local area.
  • Assist in all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be a graduate of a school of pharmacy.
  • Must have and maintain an unrestricted state pharmacist license.
  • Must not have active suspensions, sanctions, or other restrictions related to participation in a private, federal, or state health insurance program upon hire and thereafter.
  • Must not have received an unacceptable result on a company-sponsored drug test within the last three years.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Be an immunizing pharmacist meeting the requirements as established by the state (or be scheduled to become an immunizer in the next set of training classes).
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interpret and understand instructions and solve problems.
  • Numerical and financial aptitude.
  • Knowledge of retail merchandising and inventory control.
