Outpatient Speech Language Pathologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Speech Language Pathologist to join our Outpatient Rehabilitation & Specialized Care team at Children's National Hospital. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality speech therapy services to our patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluation and Treatment Planning
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess patients' communication and swallowing disorders
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address patients' needs and goals
- Therapy Services
- Provide speech therapy services to patients of all ages, including children and adults
- Use evidence-based practices and techniques to promote effective communication and swallowing skills
- Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, occupational therapists, and physical therapists, to ensure comprehensive care
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers to ensure understanding and cooperation
- Documentation and Record-Keeping
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient evaluations, treatment plans, and progress
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies
- Professional Development
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and research
- Contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures
- Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)-accredited institution
- Licensure and Certification
- Speech-Language Pathologist license in the District of Columbia
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology from ASHA
- Skills and Experience
- Strong clinical skills and experience working with patients of all ages
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
