Speech-Language Pathologist

A Speech-Language Pathologist at Meridian Public Charter School is responsible for providing clinical services to students with academically based communication disorders. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or Speech-Language Pathology, certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist, and two or more years of experience working in schools.
Key Responsibilities- Provides direct and indirect clinical services to students with communication disorders.
- Develops and implements individualized programs of therapy to meet students' needs.
- Assists teachers in observing, describing, and referring suspected and identified speech and language impairments.
- Participates in multidisciplinary team meetings and related responsibilities.
- Provides speech and language therapy to special education students in groups and as individuals.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
- Master's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or Speech-Language Pathology preferred.
- Certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist by the District of Columbia Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE).
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Two or more years of experience working in schools preferred.
