Position Title: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Location: Washington, D.C.

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team and make a meaningful impact on the lives of our students.

Job Summary: The Speech-Language Pathologist will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating students with speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders. The SLP will work collaboratively with educators, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to support student success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations of students' speech and language abilities.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and IEPs based on assessment results.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students with speech and language disorders.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support students' communication needs.
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and provide input on students' progress and goals.
  • Educate and train teachers and parents on strategies to support speech and language development.
  • Stay current with best practices and research in the field of speech-language pathology.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Valid Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the District of Columbia.
  • D.C. State Board of Education certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children in a school setting preferred.
  • Strong understanding of speech and language development and disorders.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team and build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
