We are seeking an Academic Counselor to provide academic guidance and support to student athletes. The successful candidate will work closely with coaches, faculty, and administrators to help student athletes balance their academic responsibilities and athletic participation.
Key Responsibilities- Provide academic support services to student athletes, including identifying and meeting academic and career goals, selecting appropriate courses, and planning for degree attainment.
- Coordinate services to address academic needs, create and implement individual study plans, assist with time management and study skills, and recognize and address academic challenges for student athletes.
- Regularly meet with assigned sport teams to discuss academic issues, prepare and distribute weekly reports to coaches, and evaluate the performance of at-risk student athletes.
- Meet with prospective student athletes and families throughout the recruiting process.
- A master's degree in sports management, higher education administration, student affairs, counseling, or a closely related field.
- At least 2 years of academic advising/student service experience.
