About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Substation Engineering Intern to join our team at Westwood Professional Services, Inc.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare preliminary analysis on various technical tasks
  • Conduct project research, fieldwork, observation, and preliminary design calculations
  • Take personal responsibility for the quality of tasks performed
  • Use CAD/PLSCAD to prepare and check working drawings, details, layouts, and estimates
  • Perform routine analysis to check the accuracy of data and work products
Requirements
  • Electrical Engineering major (Junior, Senior, or Master's student)
  • Demonstrates willingness to accept new challenges and learn specialized field
  • Growing knowledge of profession as demonstrated by involvement in related professional organizations and professional development programs
  • Basic knowledge of the firm's policies, practices, and procedures
  • Basic knowledge of software required for position
  • Good organizational skills
  • Able to follow general directions and work with limited independence on basic computations
Preferred Qualifications
  • AutoCAD and MicroStation drafting experience a plus
