Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Patient Support Specialist to become an integral part of our team. This role involves executing established processes and protocols while collaborating with all members of the care team to fulfill the organization's vision and mission. The Patient Support Specialist will deliver exceptional customer service and support the team in achieving financial, clinical, and service objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify and update patient demographics and necessary documentation.
- Accurately schedule patient appointments following departmental protocols.
- Facilitate patient check-out and coordinate scheduling services as directed.
- Provide educational resources and pre-appointment instructions as required.
- Address patient inquiries related to care and provide routine information on procedures.
- Resolve patient questions regarding clinic schedules and billing issues.
- Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record system.
- Process incoming and outgoing insurance referral requests in accordance with departmental guidelines.
- Educate patients on basic insurance concepts and manage expectations regarding timelines.
- Handle department communications and documentation in a timely manner.
- Identify urgent patient-related issues and escalate them as necessary.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and comply with departmental policies.
- Engage in learning opportunities and participate in departmental meetings.
- Maintain regular attendance and fulfill other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
