Experienced Production Technician - 2nd Shift

Location: Plainfield, CT

*$2,000 sign-on bonus for candidates with 3+ years of manufacturing experience*
Hours: 4:00 PM - 2:30 AM Monday-Friday
Compensation: $21.75/hr+ based on experience (includes a $2.50 per hour premium for 2nd shift)

Your Impact:

The Production Technician is tasked with the assembly and construction of various components as well as complete truck bodies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret orders, specifications, blueprints, and labels, including those with hazardous warnings.
  • Utilize various saws, shears, and cutters to cut wood or metal to precise dimensions.
  • Assemble parts using bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or other fasteners.
  • Operate pneumatic and hand tools effectively.
  • Conduct machine setup and perform preventative maintenance as necessary.
  • Inspect finished products for quality assurance and defects.
  • Carry out safety and quality checks diligently.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and policies.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of prior experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Basic proficiency in math, tape measurement, and computer skills.
  • Experience with hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Experience in construction is advantageous.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience with truck body assembly.

Physical Requirements:

  • This position operates within a manufacturing facility. Regular duties include talking, hearing, standing for extended periods, walking, using hands for tasks, and lifting up to 35 pounds. The role may also involve sitting, bending, stooping, squatting, reaching overhead, or crawling in confined spaces. Repetitive hand tasks and the ability to climb ladders or work at heights are expected.
