Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement patient care plans that address identified needs, ensuring a comprehensive and individualized approach to treatment.
- Manage clients in crisis, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic skills and assessment techniques to ensure safe and effective care.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to design and implement effective patient education programs, promoting informed decision-making and empowerment.
- Provide accurate and timely documentation of patient care and response in the medical record, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of best practices in behavioral health care.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in behavioral health care, applying this knowledge to enhance patient outcomes and service delivery.
Requirements
- Master's degree in a relevant human services field, such as Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or Marriage and Family Therapy, from an accredited school of graduate education.
- Full licensure in North Carolina required.
- 2 years of clinical experience in a behavioral health setting.
- CPI and CPR training required for psychotherapists working in inpatient psychiatric settings.
Work Environment
This role requires frequent movement between patient care areas, including hospital units, emergency rooms, individual offices, and conference areas, with exposure to potentially combative and hostile patients. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
