Work Environment

The position is based in our facility, which is integral to our Meat division, focusing on the creation of diverse breading, batter, and coating blends for our esteemed brands and clientele. This role operates on the 2nd Shift.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Quality team, which encompasses scheduling, time record approval, performance evaluations, counseling, and documentation of performance.
  • Support the plant's Food Safety & Quality System to ensure the production of safe and high-quality food, serving as the SQF Practitioner or an equivalent GFSI manager (BRC, FS22000).
  • Collaborate with the Quality Manager to enhance and maintain food safety programs and systems, including HACCP, sanitation, and environmental monitoring. Ensure the quality systems are upheld within the facility.
  • Regularly update work instructions, SSOPs, procedures, and other relevant documentation.
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with internal quality policies and local regulations, identifying areas for corrective action in collaboration with site management.
  • Assist the facility during inspections, customer audits, and interactions with regulatory bodies.
  • Provide technical support to quality assurance and operational teams.
  • Lead departmental and job-specific training initiatives.
  • Perform laboratory analyses and investigations, developing and implementing innovative techniques.
  • Maintain records of test results and product evaluations.
  • Update product specifications, including those for customers and raw materials, to reflect any necessary changes.
  • Prepare testing schedules and procedures, including solutions and reagents for laboratory personnel.
  • Ensure that finished products and raw materials are tested according to Kerry specifications.
  • Develop and adhere to Quality Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Engage in quality complaint investigations.
  • Verify the completion of corrective actions and ongoing compliance.

Qualifications for Success

  • A Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Willingness to work the 2nd Shift.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in quality assurance within a food manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems, GFSI standards, SSOPs, environmental hygiene programs, prerequisite programs, and HACCP.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP is advantageous.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

The typical salary range for this position is competitive and is influenced by various factors, including education, experience, certifications, and location.
