Job Overview

As a Mortgage Loan Officer, you will play a pivotal role in driving loan volume through proactive sales strategies involving builders, real estate agents, and other key contacts. Key Responsibilities

Your daily tasks will encompass, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Establish connections with individuals, realtors, and builders, while participating in community and civic events to broaden your network and stimulate sales.
  • Engage in marketing initiatives and promotional events, including delivering presentations to groups, aimed at boosting sales performance.
  • Work closely with clients to gather loan applications, ensuring adherence to compliance standards while negotiating favorable terms and conditions.
  • Collect, organize, and evaluate information to determine eligibility for various investor loan products.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries and providing information from the initial sale through to closing.
  • Maintain close communication with processing teams to guarantee timely loan closures.
  • Stay informed about FHA, VA, and conventional loan regulations and guidelines through ongoing education, training, and research.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English, with the ability to read, write, listen, and converse fluently in both languages.
  • High school diploma or GED; a college degree is preferred.
  • Experience in outside sales related to FHA, VA, and conventional lending.
  • Professional representation of Stock Yards Bank & Trust in all interactions with clients and external contacts.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas effectively in both written and spoken forms. A collaborative team player who can learn and apply training while understanding policies and procedures.
  • Proficient in computer usage with a typing speed of at least 35 WPM.
  • Familiarity with basic underwriting principles is preferred.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Strong sales acumen and negotiation skills, with the ability to perform under pressure.
