The Process Lead serves as a vital technical resource, leveraging expertise in process and manufacturing methodologies. This role is pivotal in the formulation and execution of production strategies, troubleshooting, and continuous enhancement initiatives aimed at maximizing operational efficiency across production, safety, quality, and reliability domains.

The incumbent will also oversee and guide daily work activities.

Core Responsibilities:


Provide technical guidance on facility safety measures when designing or modifying work processes or equipment to mitigate workplace injuries and health risks.

Support safety and quality protocols, including conducting and assisting in investigations.
Comprehend chemical and process safety regulations within the facility.
Ensure adherence to all safety standards by personnel, including contractors.
Guarantee compliance with environmental regulations.
Oversee incident and accident investigations, including Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and subsequent corrective actions.
Ensure that all personnel comply with plant quality procedures and standards.
Facilitate production activities in alignment with ISO and GMP standards.
Engage in customer visits and audits as necessary.
Maintain compliance with all productivity benchmarks.
Coordinate daily Preventative & Reactive Maintenance activities.
Encourage innovative thinking and problem-solving.
Foster team adaptability, flexibility, and readiness for change.
Support cost control measures and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
Assist in Plant Loss Accounting (OEE) systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional departments as needed.
Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and Standard Worksheets within the facility.
Ensure compliance with all operational guidelines.
Hold operations personnel accountable for their responsibilities.
Lead and manage production requirements effectively with direct reports.
Create an environment conducive to teamwork across shifts and with other leads.
Participate in or lead improvement teams.
Coordinate the completion of training programs for operations employees.
Work with area leads to ensure that skill block needs and training requirements are fulfilled for the department.

Qualified candidates will have:
B.Sc. degree in a process-related engineering discipline (Chemical or Mechanical) or equivalent experience and education.

3-5 years of experience as an Engineer (or equivalent) involved in process troubleshooting, project development, and implementation.

Must possess experience in process automation, ideally with formal training or foundational knowledge of computer/PLC operations.
Comprehensive knowledge of Corn Wet Milling and Refining manufacturing processes and equipment (other food processing experience may be considered).
Familiarity with company and generally accepted design and construction standards.
Understanding of company and regulatory rules, policies, and procedures in the areas of GMP, Quality, Environmental Management, and Health & Safety.
Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe working environment, including a solid understanding of Occupational Health and Safety regulations.

Exemplary verbal and written communication skills.
High degree of sound judgment, resourcefulness, initiative, and innovation in managing complex technical tasks with minimal supervision.
Effective problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
Assertive, creative, energetic, and positive mindset.
Proficient in PC applications, including word processing, databases, and spreadsheets.
Experience in supervision and leadership within a manufacturing setting.
