  • Provide Exceptional Customer Service
    • Deliver outstanding service to patrons of all ages, responding to their needs and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Assist with Library Operations
    • Support the circulation desk, checking materials in and out using barcode scanners and RFID systems.
    • Register patrons for new library cards and accurately enter data into the system.
    • Assist patrons in locating materials and provide reader's advisory assistance.
  • Technology Support
    • Provide technology and computer assistance to adult and youth patrons, including help with a wide variety of computer tasks.
    • Continuously learn new and changing technology to stay up-to-date with the latest developments.
  • Library Policies and Procedures
    • Familiarize yourself with library policies and procedures, adhering to them at all times.
    • Monitor patron behavior and enforce the library code of conduct, alerting management as needed.
  • Additional Responsibilities
    • Shelve materials as needed.
    • Answer telephone calls and assist patrons with renewals, lost items, and materials or services questions.
    Requirements
    • Education and Experience
      • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
      • Customer service experience preferred.
    • Skills and Abilities
      • Computer literacy and willingness to learn new technologies.
      • Knowledge of popular reading materials, movies, and music.
      • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and Saturdays.
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    Working Conditions

This position requires walking and standing for long periods, as well as light lifting and carrying of up to 40 pounds. The successful candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
