Job Title: Licensed Psychologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Licensed Psychologist to join our team at Birchwood School. As a Licensed Psychologist, you will play a critical role in providing therapeutic and evaluation services to youth in our secure facilities and community division.

Job Summary:

The Licensed Psychologist will be responsible for developing, facilitating, and providing therapeutic and evaluation services to youth at our facilities. This will include collaborating with our treatment teams to provide specialized groups, psychiatric referrals, and court-ordered psychological assessments and evaluations. The successful candidate will also participate in staffing and hearings associated with the SMI inclusion process and provide clinical and evaluation support to other Birchwood School facilities across the state.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with treatment teams to provide therapeutic and evaluation services to youth
  • Develop and facilitate specialized groups and provide psychiatric referrals
  • Conduct court-ordered psychological assessments and evaluations
  • Participate in staffing and hearings associated with the SMI inclusion process
  • Provide clinical and evaluation support to other Birchwood School facilities across the state
  • Participate in supervisory on-call rotation for after-hours crisis management needs
Requirements:
  • Doctorate in applied psychology from an accredited college or university
  • Experience in the practice of applied psychology
  • Thorough knowledge of current psychological theory, practice, assessment, and evaluation techniques
  • Knowledge of risk, need, and responsivity model and principles
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with youth, families, staff, and other entities
  • Ability to work in a secure facility with the confidence and endurance to work in a dynamic environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Doctoral degree in applied psychology from an APA accredited program in psychology
  • Currently licensed to practice psychology in SC
  • Experience working with youth in a secure environment and providing trauma-focused and responsive services
