About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Cell Assembly Technician to join our team at Saft America, Inc. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you will be responsible for operating and maintaining complex machinery, ensuring the production of high-quality battery cells and batteries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up, operate, and maintain production equipment, machines, and tools using process documents, diagrams, and written instructions.
  • Operate winding, welding, punching, and stacking equipment, and become proficient in each machine's operations.
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition, adhering to 6S standards and safety requirements.
  • Inspect machine outputs using precision measurement tools, including calipers, micrometers, meters, and vision systems.
  • Follow instructions per process specs while manufacturing materials for use in high-power cells and batteries.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Additional schooling or training in a technical field is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of manufacturing experience, preferably running machinery.
  • Basic computer skills with some proficiency in Excel and database usage.
  • Ability to comprehend written instructions and clearly document and record work results.
  • Proven experience running complex machinery and producing high-quality products.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to maintain an organized workstation to optimize product flow.
  • Ability to install materials and set up machines using precise settings.
  • Possess a keen eye for detail and ability to notice small variances in processes and materials.
  • Communicate clearly and accurately to describe machine or product issues and possess the ability to communicate with all levels of personnel.
  • Reliable, trustworthy, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Problem-solving skills to diagnose and correct issues that may occur during machine operation.
  • Ability and willingness to rapidly learn and understand tasks assigned.
  • Must be available to work overtime as schedules occasionally require.
Working Conditions
  • PPE requirements include safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, and full-body gowns.
  • Work environment will be in a dry room with cooled and low-humidity air.
  • This position will require standing for most of each day.
  • This position requires working in an environment where strong magnets and chemicals are present.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
