We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Coding and Data Entry Specialist to join our team at MD B.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of experience in medical coding and data entry, with a strong understanding of healthcare reimbursement processes and coding standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Accurately assign medical codes to diagnoses and procedures, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines.
  2. Enter patient information into the billing system, maintaining high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
  3. Process insurance claims, following up on outstanding claims to ensure timely reimbursement.
  4. Respond to billing inquiries from patients, insurance companies, and internal staff, resolving discrepancies promptly.
  5. Verify patient insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for medical procedures.
  6. Post payments received from insurance companies and patients to the appropriate accounts, reconciling discrepancies as needed.
  7. Maintain compliance with changing coding and billing regulations, ensuring adherence to all relevant healthcare laws and regulations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent, with certification in medical billing and coding preferred.
  2. Experience: 1-2 years of experience in medical coding and data entry, with familiarity with ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
  3. Software Proficiency: Proficient in using medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  4. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with patients, insurance companies, and internal staff.
  5. Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in coding and data entry processes.

Compensation and Benefits:
