Job Opportunity

Syms Strategic Group, LLC (SSG) is seeking a highly skilled Software Developer in Test to join our team in support of a large Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) nationwide program.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a talented individual with experience in automated software development and testing to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing test automation strategies, creating automation test plans, and configuring Selenium test environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement test automation strategies
  • Create automation test plans and get approvals
  • Configure Selenium test environments
  • Create, organize, and manage test automation resources
  • Design, develop, and execute automated tests
  • Extend existing test automation frameworks and tools
  • Integrate with CI/CD tools and pipeline
  • Triage, troubleshoot, and document defects
  • Document QA procedures for the team
  • Work closely with engineering and QA to manage and improve the development pipeline
  • Perform and write automated functional, system, regression, and integration testing

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software/Systems Engineering, or equivalent technical degree
  • Experience working in an agile environment
  • Comprehensive technical expertise on IT products, operating systems, software, hardware, systems, and networks
  • Experience developing test plans and test procedures
  • 8+ years of automated software development and testing experience
  • Java, C#, or Python development experience
  • Flat File Processing, API, or Backend testing experience

Desired Experience:

  • Experience with EDI and financial transaction systems
  • Experience testing MUMPS, VistA, and other VA systems

Security Clearance Requirements:

Must possess or qualify for a Public Trust (MBI) security clearance.

Citizenship Requirement:

U.S. Citizenship is required for this specific opportunity.
