Job Description

Our team at Christina Pendleton & Associates, P.C. is seeking a highly skilled Litigation Paralegal to support our personal injury department in Virginia's Circuit Courts and General District Courts. This role reports to our Department Supervisor and requires a strong background in litigation management, case preparation, and client communication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all phases of litigation, including investigation, pleadings, and discovery through the pre-trial, trial, settlement, and appeal process.
  • Support attorneys with all litigation cases, including client communication, process litigation correspondence, and coordination with court and defense counsel.
  • Draft pleadings for attorney modification and review, send subpoenas, FOIAs, spoliation letters, and other correspondence necessary for investigation and litigation.
  • Coordinate process service for legal filings, schedule depositions, hearings, and other case-related appointments, and draft medical chronologies and statement of damages for attorney review.
  • Perform high-level legal research, assist in trial preparation, and maintain confidentiality and discretion in all interactions.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of prior litigation paralegal experience required.
  • Associate's degree or higher education in legal or related field preferred.
  • Highly efficient with computers, computer software (Microsoft Office applications Excel, Word), and with a keystroke at least 65 wpm.
  • Knowledge and experience with other relevant forms of data technology, including the use of email and case management software or other data input software.
  • Proficient in Google and Microsoft Office software, and ability to successfully pass a background check.

Additional Desired Qualifications:

  • Bilingual English/Spanish.
