We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our team at Boston Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct clinical and support services to patients and their families in our MedSurg department.
Responsibilities- Perform a variety of delegated patient care interventions, including obtaining vital signs, bathing and feeding, dressing wounds, and assisting with hygiene.
- Contribute to the efficient operation of the MedSurg department, ensuring quality patient/family clinical outcomes.
- Work cooperatively with all healthcare team members to provide a safe, clean, and appropriately equipped environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
- A high school diploma or GED certificate.
- Certification in basic life support (BLS), including CPR certification.
- Ability to pass clinical competency testing.
- Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
- Basic math and computer proficiency.
- One of the following: one year of previous experience as a Patient Care Technician in an acute hospital setting, currently enrolled in a nursing program and have completed two cycles of clinical rotation, completed an approved Patient Care Technician training, completed an approved certified medical assistant training, or one year of previous experience as an EMT or field medic.
