Job Overview
The EHS Specialist will be instrumental in promoting workplace safety and overseeing safety systems. This role involves leadership in identifying and mitigating workplace safety hazards and environmental impacts. Key responsibilities include evaluating solutions, implementing safety programs, and ensuring adherence to regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Champion safety initiatives and enhance safety program effectiveness
- Act as a technical expert in EHS compliance and risk management
- Engage in incident investigations and analyze accident data
- Collaborate with Human Resources on return-to-work strategies
- Conduct safety and ergonomic assessments
- Oversee environmental programs and perform EHS evaluations
- Design and deliver EHS training sessions
- Execute all job functions in a safe and ethical manner
- Comply with ISO standards and regulatory mandates
- Fulfill additional duties as assigned
- 5+ years of experience in safety or environmental roles within manufacturing
- Knowledge of EHS regulatory compliance
- Strong technical and project management capabilities
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Self-driven and capable of working independently or collaboratively
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field preferred
- Completion of OSHA 30 hr course or equivalent
- Familiarity with safety programs such as ISO 9001 and VPP
- Certification as a Safety Professional (CSP) is advantageous
- Physical capability to lift 30 to 50 pounds
