About the Role:
As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for machining parts to precise tolerances based on engineering specifications. This role involves working with a variety of materials, including metals and plastics, utilizing advanced CNC machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Programming: Modify and maintain CNC programs as needed, ensuring compliance with management systems. Set up machines by entering necessary parameters and offsets, and calculate machining requirements using mathematical principles.
- Machining: Follow directives from supervisors while ensuring the proper use of tools and equipment. Perform setups for mills and lathes, load materials into machines, and adhere to safety protocols.
- Product Verification: Conduct measurements and inspections to ensure adherence to quality standards, making adjustments as necessary to maintain precision.
- Efficiency: Aim for high productivity with minimal waste, demonstrating strong attention to detail in all tasks.
- Collaboration: Work effectively within a team environment, contributing to shared goals and fostering positive relationships.
Qualifications:
Education: High School diploma or GED required; an Associate degree in Machine Tool Technology or related field is preferred.
Experience: A minimum of five years of experience in a precision machining environment is preferred.
Skills: Proficiency in basic computer operations, including email and data collection software, is essential. Strong mathematical skills and the ability to interpret technical documents are required.
Physical Requirements: This position requires prolonged standing and the ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and maneuvering materials.
Work Environment: The role is situated in an industrial machine shop, where employees may encounter various operational challenges.
