Job Title: Field Services Engineer

Sloan, a leading manufacturer of commercial plumbing systems, is seeking a highly skilled Field Services Engineer to join our team. As a key technical advisor, you will work closely with our sales team to provide expert guidance and support to customers, ensuring complete satisfaction throughout the sales process.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct job site assessments to understand existing plumbing systems, products, and performance, making recommendations for improvements and product selection.
  • Perform on-site field investigations and troubleshooting to resolve product issues, capturing and analyzing data to inform engineering and manufacturing decisions.
  • Provide direction and support to the Sloan Service Network during new product launches, performing product training seminars for customers and stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate records of target accounts, opportunities, quotes, projects, contacts, and correspondence in Cloud for Customer and Cloud for Service databases.
  • Author reports, repair bulletins, and best practices documents related to field findings.
  • Review technical documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness, initiating change processes and repair bulletins as necessary.
  • Document and deliver best practices for diagnostic and repair procedures via various media formats.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of related work experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in advanced troubleshooting methods and field quality assessment.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of service and installation processes.
  • Ability to interpret maintenance manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams to install, disassemble, assemble, and repair products.
  • Ability to read and interpret plumbing system drawings.
  • General knowledge of plumbing control systems.
  • Knowledge of and experience with developing testing/auditing programs, including FMEA, 8D, Design of Experiments.
  • Proven ability of problem-solving and quality improvement tools, including corrective and preventative action.
  • Sound business acumen and understanding of when to escalate and engage subject knowledge experts and mitigate risk.
  • Ability to prioritize and project multiple customer issues and situations.
  • Interpret and implement company policies clearly, escalating and gaps as necessary.
