Job Summary

Counselor II or III provides comprehensive counseling, case management services, and crisis intervention based on consumer need and functional assessment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify and diagnose mental health/substance abuse disorders and functional capacity.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with measurable goals and objectives.
  • Provide case management services to consumers who meet eligibility criteria, including referral, monitoring, supportive counseling, education, and skill development.
  • Engage in ongoing evaluation of clinical practice and services rendered through annual re-assessments and treatment plan reviews.
  • Meet targeted billing units per month and comply with all policies and procedures established by Mount Rogers CSB, Licensure, Medicaid/Medicare, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Participate in meetings, such as supervision, clinical staffing, business meetings, and committees, to enhance a team approach to decision making.
Qualifications

Extensive knowledge of mental disorders and substance abuse, skills in assessment and diagnosis, and knowledge of counseling theories and practice utilized to treat mental illness and substance abuse.

Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field, with licensure required for Counselor III (LPC, LMFT, or LCSW).

Valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
