Job Summary

MW Partners is seeking a highly skilled Financial Manager to join our client's finance team in the media and entertainment industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Monthly Close and Reconciliation:

  • Oversee the monthly close and reconciliation process, ensuring accurate and timely results.
  • Collaborate with the Controller's team to resolve any discrepancies and ensure proper transaction recording.
  • Prepare cause of change analyses to support P&L variances on annual forecasts vs. prior forecasts, budget, and prior year.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting and FP&A outputs meet corporate finance deadlines.

Forecasting and Budgeting:

  • Support the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and 5-year plans for Games and Emerging Media.
  • Maintain Longview planning units to ensure efficient reporting from the financial system.
  • Manage detailed templates for business teams to utilize effectively for planning purposes.
  • Track live updates against submitted projections to ensure target achievement.

Games and Emerging Media Business Support:

  • Support monthly meetings with business teams to review results, communicate fluctuations from forecasts, and manage changes within guidelines.
  • Manage expense codes for marketing and production across new games and categories.
  • Support quarterly participations expense deduction reporting.
  • Monitor CBS/Paramount spend for intercompany chargeback between client and those brands.
  • Handle transactional inquiries and questions from the gaming team.
  • Conduct ad-hoc modeling to support business decisions on emerging business initiatives.
  • Perform other ad-hoc duties as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting; MBA/CPA a plus.
  • 5-6 years combined experience in a media organization, finance team, or accounting firm.
  • Highly analytical with strong Excel skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with reconciliation and accounting close cycles.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to resolve problems and maximize efficiency.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong technical skills: expert in Microsoft Excel and preferred experience with SAP and Longview.
  • Champions creativity and innovation.
  • Works independently and in a team setting, both in the office and remotely.
  • Influences and effectively communicates with others to drive work forward.
