Position Overview:


The Water Resource Engineer will engage in both structural and non-structural design tasks, encompassing data collection, analysis, flood modeling, and cost-benefit assessments for various water-related infrastructures including waterways, pipelines, dams, dikes, culverts, and canals.


Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and coordinate field crew operations.

Provide expert consultation and direction to project stakeholders and management regarding engineering specifications for the construction of diverse designs, modifications, and structural enhancements.

Utilize design software and drafting tools to accurately depict and communicate engineering designs; plan and design interconnected systems and structures, such as transportation or hydraulic systems.

Evaluate the integrity of construction materials through rigorous testing of materials and soil.
Establish design criteria by calculating load and grade requirements, material stress factors, water flow rates, and other essential parameters.

Plan and execute projects based on comprehensive analysis of relevant materials including drawings, blueprints, aerial imagery, survey reports, maps, and geological data.

Prepare and present detailed reports on project-related topics such as environmental impact assessments and right-of-way documentation.
Estimate necessary materials, equipment, and labor to ascertain project costs.
Collaborate with engineers and contractors to ensure seamless project progression.

Work in conjunction with surveyors (or lead and participate in surveying) to determine installation points, grades, elevations, and other critical factors influencing construction.

Monitor project advancement to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety, and sanitation standards.
Upon project completion, conduct inspections, repairs, and maintenance of structures as required.
Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
In-depth knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, and tools.
Proficient in computer-aided design (CAD) and other relevant design, data recording, and analysis software.
Experienced in HEC-RAS or similar simulation software utilized in computational fluid dynamics.

Comprehensive understanding of materials, methods, and tools pertinent to the construction, repair, or restoration of water-related infrastructures.

Strong grasp of safety regulations associated with assigned projects.
Capability to identify and resolve complex engineering challenges.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to be both innovative and analytical.
Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.

Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a focus on Civil Engineering.
Licensure or eligibility for licensure within one year of employment is mandatory.

Physical Demands:
Extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
Willingness to travel to various project sites.
Capability to access and navigate job sites and construction areas.
Compensation is commensurate with experience.
