Job Summary:

St. John's Riverside Hospital is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team. As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures using computed tomography (CT) scanners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Selecting proper technical factors for examinations
  • Accessing IV sites and administering contrast media
  • Performing medication management, including storage, rotation, and temperature requirements
  • Preparing oral contrast
  • Completing and sending images and scanning documents using PACS
  • Reconstructing and post-processing images according to protocols
  • Disposing of biomedical waste using CDC and OSHA guidelines
  • FOLLOWING ALL FEDERAL, STATE, AND HOSPITAL HEALTH SAFETY CODES, ESPECIALLY IN REFERENCE TO RADIATION, ELECTRICAL, AND MECHANICAL SAFETY
  • Adequately explaining procedures to patients
  • Maintaining registration with ARRT, including CE credits
  • Proficient in the use of MediTech (RIS)

Qualifications:

  • Understanding written and verbal instructions
  • Manual dexterity for manipulating equipment
  • Graduate of an approved school for Radiologic Technology
  • Licensed for New York State in Radiologic technology, including permit for injections
  • Registered or eligible by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists; advanced certification preferred
