POSITION SUMMARY

The Billing Specialist plays a vital role in managing the invoicing process within the Agency Management System. This position is essential for ensuring the precise and prompt billing of insurance policies, handling payments, and addressing any discrepancies that may arise. The Billing Specialist collaborates closely with various internal teams to ensure seamless billing operations and support the financial stability of the agency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Creating invoices for insurance premiums and related services.
  • Generating monthly statements for clients.
  • Recording and processing all funds received for financing agreements.
  • Addressing inquiries from agencies regarding billing matters and providing clear explanations.
  • Coordinating with insurance carriers and internal teams to resolve billing-related queries and updates.
  • Preparing regular billing and financial reports for management, emphasizing key trends, outstanding accounts, and areas for enhancement.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and company policies in all billing practices.
  • Maintaining accurate and current billing records and reports within the agency's management system.
  • Identifying opportunities to optimize the billing process and enhance efficiency.
  • Assisting with the processing and downloading of commission statements as necessary.
  • Entering manual records as required.
  • Engaging in special projects and other assigned duties.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in billing, accounts receivable, or a related financial role, ideally within the insurance sector.
  • Strong knowledge of billing processes and financial principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Experience with agency management systems (EPIC) is preferred.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial calculations.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Problem-solving skills focused on resolving billing discrepancies.
